Virginia regulators weigh expanded use of data centers’ polluting generators

This past summer, a fire at an electrical substation forced data centers in Loudoun County to rely on backup diesel generators as their power source.

In a move that has sparked debate over fiscal responsibility, members of Loudoun County's Affordable Dwelling Unit Advisory Board (ADUAB) have discussed subsidizing land costs for multi-unit tiny homes as a potential solution to the county's escalating affordable housing crisis.
