Democrat National Committee frontrunner wanted Trump charged with ‘Treason,’ which carries the death penalty

Ken Martin said Trump was a ‘traitor to our country’ and that he should be put on trial for treason.

One of the leading candidates to lead the Democratic National Committee called for Donald Trump’s trial for treason, and accused him of being responsible for the deaths of American troops. This was based on a false accusation that the Biden Administration disputed.

Ken Martin, the chairman of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, cited an unconfirmed June 2020 report that Trump ignored intelligence showing Russia paid the Taliban bounties to attack Americans in Afghanistan.

Martin , citing a news article with an anonymous source on June 29, 2021, wrote: “[Donald Trump] must be impeached immediately and put on trial for high treason.” His actions caused the deaths of American Soldiers. He is a traitor of our nation and those who served.

The Constitution defines treason as “aiding and comforting” America’s enemies. A sentence can range from five years to death.

The explosive report that sparked breathless media coverage was based on weak intelligence, which military officials from both the Trump administration and the Biden administration have not been able to verify. In September 2020, Gen. Frank McKenzie said, “It hasn’t been proven to a degree of certainty that I am satisfied with.” The Biden CIA stated in 2021 that it had “low confidence to moderate” to the claim made by Russian spies to “encourage” Taliban attacks against U.S. Military personnel.

Trump administration officials, contrary to early reports and Martin’s treason charge, have stated that Trump wasn’t told about the intelligence, because there wasn’t enough proof that Russia paid the Taliban.

Martin’s explosive attack could be a source of inspiration for a Republican base that was reenergized by Trump’s victory in November.

Martin is one of the frontrunners in the race. Ben Wikler is his strongest opponent, the Wisconsin Democratic Party Chairman. Wikler is a progressive who has adopted the anti-Israel faction within the party. Martin is supported by more than 100 Democratic delegate. James Skoufis, a New York State Senator, recently dropped out of his race to endorse Martin. Martin has been leading the Minnesota Party since 2011.

In recent weeks the race has become more combative, as Martin and Wikler have been squaring up over the relationship between their party and its billionaire donors. Martin has taken potshots at Wikler for his close relationship with Reid Hoffman, a billionaire entrepreneur who is linked to Jeffrey Epstein, a pedophile.

Martin, for his part, has stated that he is open to receiving support from wealthy donors – but only those whom he considers “good billionaires.”

Martin said that there are many good billionaires who have supported Democrats and share our values. We will accept their money. “But we won’t take money from those evil billionaires.”

The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party did not respond to a request for comment.
