Enrollment Now Open for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office 53rd Citizens’ Police Academy

Loudoun County, VA (January 20, 2025) – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is excited to announce the start of its 53rd Citizens’ Police Academy, scheduled to begin on March 6, 2025.

For 27 years, the LCSO has proudly hosted the Citizens’ Police Academy, graduating over 1,200 participants. This program is a cornerstone of our efforts to strengthen community connections and provide residents with a deeper understanding of law enforcement operations in Loudoun County.

The academy is open to Loudoun County residents aged 18 and older. Enrollment is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Class sizes are intentionally limited to around 25 participants to encourage meaningful interaction and engagement.

A standout feature of the academy is the opportunity to join a deputy on a ride-along, giving participants an up-close look at the rewards and challenges of protecting and serving the community.

The upcoming academy will run every Thursday evening for 11 weeks from March 6 through May 22, 2025, beginning at 7:00 PM. Sessions will last approximately 2.5 hours, with locations varying each week.

This marks the first Citizens’ Police Academy offered by the LCSO this year, with the next session slated to begin in the third quarter of 2025.
