Former GreenCity Developers File Chapter 7 Bankruptcy in Richmond
Green City Partners, the group led by Susan Eastridge and Michael Hallmark behind the failed GreenCity project, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection Sept. 9, Richmond BizSense reported.
The filing lists more than $825,000 in known liabilities to 16 creditors and less than $50,000 in assets. Creditors include Henrico County, the Henrico Economic Development Authority, arena partner ASM Global (now Legends Global) and several law and design firms, with some claim amounts listed as unknown.
Henrico last year reclaimed the former Best Products site after payment defaults and is pursuing a new arena-anchored Best Products Reimagined project. A creditors meeting is set for Oct. 6, with Spotts Fain attorney Jennifer West as interim trustee.
GreenCity was pitched as a $2.3 billion mixed-use campus after the pair's earlier Navy Hill concept failed in Richmond. County and EDA spokespeople declined comment on the bankruptcy filing.
