Investigators with the Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office remain at the scene to investigate an early morning fire in the Catoctin District.

The Loudoun County Emergency Communications Center was notified just before 2:00 am of a structure fire reported in the 43300 Block of Spinks Ferry Road. LCFR units responded from Lucketts and Leesburg as well as Lansdowne and Ashburn as well as Frederick County in Maryland. They found a 40′ x 40′ pole barn that was fully engulfed in flames.

Crews also began to work to contain the fire that was spreading into the nearby wooded area. Fire and rescue units are still on the scene, performing salvage, overhaul, and extinguishing pockets of hidden fire. There were no injuries reported to either civilians or firefighters.

The LCFR FMO is continuing to investigate this incident, and determine the damage estimate.
