Loudoun County officials remind voters that early voting begins tomorrow for the special election scheduled for Jan. 7, 2025.
A special election was held to fill vacant seats in both the 32nd State Senate District and the 26th House of Delegates District. The election is open to registered voters of those two districts.
Voting is open at the Office of Elections and Voter Registration located in Leesburg, 750 Miller Dr., Suite 150. Early voting is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
There are two Republicans running for Dist. 32 and Dist. 26, respectively, in the Virginia General Assembly.
Tumay Harding is running to take the vacant State Senate seat of Suhas Subramanyam in Dist. 32. Subramanyam was elected to Congress Nov. 5 as a Representative of Virginia’s 10th congressional district to replace current Representative Jennifer Wexton retires in January.
District 32 consists of Ashburn, Sterling, South Riding, Dulles and Brambleton. Members of the Virginia State Senate serve four-year terms and are not subject to term limits.

Ram Venkatachalam is running for the Virginia House of Delegates Dist. 26 seat which encompasses Brambleton, South Riding, Loudoun Valley Estates and Stone Ridge. Delegates serve two year terms.
The seat was declared vacant on Nov. 18 after Kannan Srinivasan announced his intention to resign in order to run for the vacant State Senate seat of Suhas Subramanyam in Dist. 32. He will run against Tumay Harding.

Additional Early Voting Opportunities
Additional early voting opportunities will occur at the Office of Elections and Voter Registration, Claude Moore Recreation Center in Sterling and Dulles South Recreation Center in South Riding Saturday, Dec. 28 and Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. More information is online at loudoun.gov/VoteEarly.
Deadline for voter registration
The deadline for registering to vote or updating current voter information in order to participate is Tuesday, Dec. 31. After Dec. 31, voters can register and cast a provisional vote. Virginia Department of Elections has information about same-day voter registration.
