Ram Venkatachalam has won a close election for the Republican nomination for House of Delegates Dist. 26. The election took place at a Republican Mass Meeting of the 26th District called by Loudoun County Republican Committee Chairman Scott Pio. Also competing for the nomination was Ommair Butt, a resident of Ashburn.
Ram and his wife are 15-year residents of Brambleton with two children in public elementary school.
A former candidate for Loudoun County Board of Supervisors and chair of the County’s Transit Advisory Board, Ram brings a deep understanding of local issues. His focus will be on lowering taxes, increasing economic opportunity, public safety, and quality public education for every child.
Ram believes the General Assembly in Richmond needs new leadership that focuses on commonsense solutions for Virginians and not divisive social issues.
The Special Election for House Dist. 26 will be held Jan. 7.
