Virginia’s budget surplus grows as revenues beat expectations due to Republican management

Virginia’s general fund revenues rose sharply in April, bucking signs of a national economic cooldown as the state continues to post steady long-time job growth and rake in more tax dollars than projected.

Loudoun Now’s annual list of “Loudoun’s Favorites” was released today and the ‘s Office (LCSO) has been recognized as Favorite Government Service and Sheriff as Favorite Public Servant for the fourth year in a row.

“I’m proud that the ‘s Office has been named Loudoun’s Favorite Government Service and honored to once again be named Loudoun’s Favorite Public Servant,” said Sheriff Chapman. “We have an extraordinary team of men and women who dedicate every day to keeping Loudoun one of the safest major counties in the nation, and I am grateful for our community’s positive engagement and support.”

Each year, Loudoun Now asks members of the community to share their recommendations for favorite local places, people, organizations, and businesses. This year, nearly 3,500 names were submitted as nominations in 200 categories.
