Some Democrats on the national level appear to have realized that their extreme positions in favor of so-called “transgender” rights at the expense all others has cost them a lot. Fairfax County public school officials continue to push gender ideology into the classrooms of children at an increasingly younger age. This includes Superintendent Michelle Reid, and 12 Democrat-endorsed members of the school board. Fairfax County Public Schools, one of the most-ranked district in the U.S. by 2022, and other districts similar to it show the importance of local activism as well as litigation in order to combat the transgender activist movement in our public school system.
The majority of Americans hold common-sense beliefs
Opinion polling indicates that the majority of Americans oppose transgender surgery for minors. Further, believes “gender is determined at birth”. The Supreme Court decision in United States v. Skrmetti will likely support Tennessee’s law that bans transgender interventions.
Even left-leaning commentators are in agreement, that the extreme positions taken by Democrat elites on transgender ideologies contributed to the party’s disastrous election losses last November.
At the state level, Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-Va.) recognized that the Virginian public was dissatisfied with such issues as the shared-sex bathrooms and the lack notification of parents when their children changed “gender identity” at school. He revised the state’s models policies that govern public education. These were intended to be implemented by Virginia’s schools during the 2023-24 school year.
Leftist school districts ignore the law
Leftist school districts are in a bubble of their own, oblivious of state law and even the Constitution. In a Letter dated August 15, 2023, Superintendent Reid stated that Fairfax County Public Schools (the largest district in Virginia and ninth in the nation) would not follow Youngkin’s policy model. In Fairfax County, public schools, social “gender changes” are still done in secret, under the threat of suspension. Preferred pronouns must be used or students will be suspended.
America First Legal, despite Reid’s efforts to ignore the law is currently litigating a case to challenge Fairfax County Public Schools policies regarding mandatory pronouns as well as bathroom usage based on a child’s self declared “gender”, rather than their sex.
This is not surprising, given that one of them a href=”https://patch.com/virginia/vienna/banned-books-used by some Fairfax school board members” rel=”noreferrer noopener” target=”_blank”>swore/a> his oath of office on pedophilic and pornographic books. It’s not surprising that one of the members swore to office on pornographic or pedophilic books.
Selecting Ideologically homogeneous “Advisory Committees
They do so, in part by appointing well-known transgender activists as members of the FLECAC (Family Life Education Curriculum Advisory Council) of the school board. Conservatives have been turned down for the committee. has even kicked one off for her dissident viewpoint. FLECAC extremists advise school board members on policies that are against the interests of parents and taxpayers. The majority of school board members vote for the recommendations made by this committee while praising their “expertise.”
FLECAC made a recent recommendation to create shared-sex rooms in elementary schools to teach boys and girls about topics that men and women are embarrassed to discuss together. It is unclear why such a radical measure would be taken. 84 of the district’s respondents to the survey objected. Reid responded at a working session held after the survey results were published. “Honestly, majority doesn’t dictate all the time, right?”
Reid confirmed what we all already knew. The district’s elected school board and administrators ignore survey results that go against their political and predetermined decisions.
Attempts To Indoctrinate The Young
The school board passed the “gender education” in seventh grade despite strong parental opposition, after FLECAC made recommendations.
FLECAC, an activist group that appears to have the sole purpose of indoctrinating young children with transgender ideologies, has decided that the seventh grade is too young. Conversations at the FLECAC’s last three meetings, which are held monthly but not recorded to allow public viewing, have focused on pushing “gender-identity” lessons into early elementary schools. Some members insisted that lessons should begin in the first grade. Others, however, cited the “problem” that parents have with the idea and suggested that lessons start in the third grade.
If the past is any indication, the school board will likely wait until 2025 to unanimously approve the recommendations when the committee makes its annual report in the spring. By then, families would have gone on summer vacations, and they are less likely to pay attention to the local school board’s activism.
The same extremists that hijacked Democrat Party on a national level are also the ones who indoctrinate transgender ideology at an early age in public schools, and run Fairfax County’s once-flagship district to the ground. These types of extremists have infiltrated public school districts all over the country.
