RICHMOND, VA — In what is becoming an alarming pattern, Abigail Spanberger refuses to condemn radical antisemitism in the Democrat Party. This time, Spanberger refused to address antisemitic social media posts by state Del. Sam Rasoul, a Roanoke Democrat who heads the House Education Committee. Rasoul called Zionism “evil” and “a supremacist ideology created to destroy and conquer everything and everyone in its way.” This isn’t the first time Spanberger has refused to condemn antisemitism—and probably not the last. In Congress, Spanberger regularly praised anti-Israel and antisemitic members like Reps. Ilhan Omar and Ayanna Pressley. She voted to keep Ilhan Omar on the House Foreign Relations Committee despite Omar’s long record of antisemitic rhetoric and regularly campaigns with her anti-Israel ticket mate, Ghazala Hashmi. Spanberger also voted against a bipartisan bill aimed at opposing the antisemitic Boycott, Divest and Sanctions (BDS) movement. “In these troubling times, we need leaders with the moral clarity and courage to stand up to purveyors of hate,” said Press Secretary Peyton Vogel. “It is increasingly clear that Abigail Spanberger cares more about appeasing the radical, hate-filled fringe in her party than doing the right thing. The Spanberger-Hashmi ticket will do nothing to protect Jewish Virginians from a growing, hate-filled virus.” |
