** None of the current Elected Officials of the democrat party have offered condolences. Tim Kaine who is currently running for the Virginia State Senate Seat has not commented on illegal aliens in his state.
In a distressing repeat of recent trends, another illegal immigrant has been charged with the death of an American citizen.
Elvis Jamir Cruz-Ferrera, an 18-year-old from Honduras who had been ordered to leave the U.S. but remained, is accused of killing 19-year-old college student Lauryn Ni’Kole Leonard due to reckless driving.
Cruz-Ferrera, who was driving 85 mph in a 60 mph zone, survived the crash with only minor injuries.
According to ICE, Cruz-Ferrera entered the U.S. illegally at the age of 11 by crossing the border into McAllen, Texas, as an unaccompanied minor. After being detained and subsequently released, he continued to live in the country illegally.
Despite a judge’s 2018 order for his removal and multiple legal issues, Cruz-Ferrera has never been deported.
Lauryn Ni’Kole Leonard’s brother, Erick Hargrove, expressed his frustration to the media, suggesting that the tragedy could have been avoided with proper enforcement of immigration laws.
“I think it’s crazy,” Hargrove said. “How come nobody looked into it? … She was just going about her life, and now everything has changed.”
Hargrove added, “I’m not trying to make this a political issue, but it’s possible this wouldn’t have happened if the deportation had been carried out as it should have been.”
Cruz-Ferrera now faces charges of involuntary manslaughter and driving without a license. If convicted, he could face up to ten years in prison.
