Governor personally appeals to new Trump administration, staffers to make Virginia their home

Gov. Glenn Youngkin has released a video inviting President-elect Trump’s new cabinet and staffers to live in Virginia rather than the District of Columbia or Maryland. He cites Virginia’s public education system and pro-business climate as reasons why Virginia is a great place to live.

The “Make Virginia Your Home” video highlights the easy access to D.C., great quality of life, safe communities, award-winning schools and lower taxes than D.C. or Maryland. Virginia also has a thriving tourism, state park, and historical legacy.

“With the amazing job Gov. Youngkin has done bringing common sense, low taxes, and high quality of life to his state, it’s no wonder that he has a compelling case to make to people who are exploring next steps in the region,” said Trump transition team spokesman Brian Hughes in a recent interview with FOX.

Youngkin says he has no plans to join the Trump Administration because he is committed to finishing his four-year term as governor, ending in 2025. Virginia is one of a few states that limit its governors to one term.

The lieutenant governor, attorney general, and all 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates will be on the ballot on Nov. 4, 2025 in addition to the governor’s seat.
