Testimony Raises Concerns Over Special Education at Stonebridge High School

A parent associated with Stonebridge High School provided public comments at a Loudoun County School Board meeting. The remarks centered on the status of special education within Loudoun County Public Schools. Attendees listened as details emerged about recent experiences shared by families.

The parent stated that special education students are not expendable within the school environment. Teachers and support staff were noted for their commitment amid reported difficulties. This perspective was shared openly during the open comment portion of the session.

Families described being directed to an isolated area during a recent open house event. Chromebooks served as the primary tool for students in that setting. The arrangement was presented as part of broader patterns observed in the district.

The testimony concluded with a direct statement to the school board that the concerns raised are not negotiable. Board members sat at the front of the room as the comments were delivered. The session allowed for multiple viewpoints on district operations.

Stonebridge High School has become a focal point for discussions on these educational matters. Parents continue to attend meetings to share their observations. The county school board oversees policies affecting special education across its schools.

Loudoun County Public Schools operate under the guidance of the elected board. The public comment format provides an opportunity for community input on such topics. Additional families have indicated plans to participate in future sessions.
